If you are used to taking food supplements you may already have experienced a change in the colour of your urine as a result. If you are new to taking supplements this may come as a bit of a surprise, but the change in urine colour is a normal result of increasing your vitamin B2 intake.
Some people may be curious at first when noticing bright yellow urine after taking a supplement, but it is just the excess B vitamins being excreted and is nothing to worry about at all.
The yellow urine doesn't mean that you aren’t absorbing any of the goodness of vitamin B2. It’s actually the body’s clever way of maintaining itself. The bright colour comes specifically from riboflavin (vitamin B2) which contains flavins - naturally occurring yellow pigments (in Latin, flavus means yellow).
